EGGactly what I needed!

Have you ever felt like you lost your creative flow, your unique magic, your artistic MOJO. Like the magic that comes out of your creations is SLIGHTLY missing.

Well... I have been feeling this lately, mostly due to the fact that I have been under the weather and also the fact that my focus seamed to have steered away from just CREATING FOR PLEASURE.

Today, I reached out to some dear ladies on a private photography group on FB and by just talking and hearing that I am not alone, it was EXACTLY what I needed.

I went to my fridge and pulled out this egg to try to capture an image to post on my ART OF TEXTURE group. Now you may think this is just a shot of an egg yolk, but for me, it is more than that. I feel a little magic in this shot, something personal to all artists. Maybe it's the reflection, maybe it's the color or just how my texture sits perfectly on this image.

We sometimes feel we are the only ones stuck in a creative rut, whereas in reality we are NOT IN THIS ALONE.

Are you finding yourself focusing on too many new ideas at once? This may bring confusion to your creative flow. Choose one thing and FOCUS on it. Like my eggs. One simple item made my day.

For all of you who have been posting in my ART OF TEXTURE GROUP, thank you so much for being there even if I haven't been so good this month in participating.

2012 Limited Edition Calendars

This 2012 limited edition press printed calendar is a collaboration between myself and Julie Siciliano and Flano Castelli of CASSI DESIGN as client gifts for the New Year.

I just so happen to have a few left over of these BEAUTIES. If you wish to have one just contact me.

This calendar is 13" x 19" spiral bound, printed one side ONLY for easy trimming of photos to be showcased in your favorite frame. It is printed on Gusto Cover 160M - Spicers Paper. You will have a collection of 13 images in all.

So if you haven't changed your calendars yet or just need that extra one for the office, here is your chance to get something original and at the same time you will get twelve 10"x10" and one 12"x14" fine art photography to frame.

February Challenge

What a pleasant way to start my year with all the new members on my Flickr group and their creative photography. You all have inspired me to go one step further.

For February I have created an INSPIRATION BOARD on Pinterest for all of you to view. This board includes the February Challenge Themes. Be inspired and put your own signature on your photography. Be creative, feel free, try something out of the box, something new that you never thought you would be able to shoot. Try a new processing style, a POV, shoot portraits if you never did before. The possibilities are endless.

2011 Holiday Card Templates

With the Holiday season approaching nothing says I LOVE YOU more than a simple greeting card. Bring joy to someone's face with this colorful 2011 collection. Use them as folded cards or flat cards, even labels on gifts or stickers. Let your Holiday creativity begin. Above are the regular press printed cards plus 1 bookmark and 2 CD label designs. I have also included the boutique card dies lines from WHCC as seen below in each card psd files. Don't stop here, all you need to do is download your WHCC boutique card templates (whcc.com) and be inspired.

For the photographer whose style is soft and pretty, you can easily convert the colors of these templates to suit your style. If you wish to soften your templates, simply alter your colors by using any method you like. What I used was gradient map, this allowed me to choose a soft color palette and keep detail in the pattern.

Spending an afternoon in Old Montreal just inspires and bring you back to a feeling of living in a small town maybe even one in Italy somewhere... just for a moment ;)

Only difference would be the smooth sound of the Italian words spoken along the cobblestone streets and the oh so fresh food that only Italy has to offer. And you cannot forget the VINO ;)

I've used two texture sets here to give these images an aged and washed out look. Try it, you might like it. With a simple tweak of your image using these textures and you can achieve countless creative possibilities.

(Note that all images have been color corrected before adding the texture, so be sure to tweak your image and sharpen it before you apply any texture.)
